The Milton Catholic Collaborative
“Caring Circle”
|
|
What
is the Caring Circle? |
The Caring
Circle is a new and innovative program designed to assist people within
the Milton Collaborative area who need help, but don’t know where
to turn. We already have a team of dedicated individuals to manage the program
on a day-to-day basis, and are now looking to “expand the circle”
to include residents from all of the parishes in the Collaborative area.
At this point, it is impossible to define the nature and extent of every
need that exists in our community. But we know that there are people who
are hurting, and we know that there are caring people who want to help.
|
The Caring
Circle connects these two groups. How? |
- Through the use
of a dedicated telephone “hotline,” where people can call,
twenty-four hours a day, and ask for assistance. All calls are treated
in a confidential and respectful manner.
- Through an on-line
communication process (email) that asks you to listen, search your heart
and decide if you are in a position to help. If you decide you cannot
help, you simply delete the email.
- Through our Monthly
Newsletter, that keeps you informed of The Caring Circle’s activities,
accomplishments and challenges.
|
Who might
need our help? What type of help might we ask you to provide? It could be: |
- A young couple having
financial difficulty, who needs winter coats for their young children.
- An elderly neighbor
who can no longer drive, and needs a ride to church on Sunday.
- A wife who asks
that we pray for her husband, who is hospitalized with a serious illness.
